As the year comes to a close, I want to reflect on our journey. Swedish Stockings was founded to challenge an industry built on disposability. Every year, over eight billion pairs of tights are produced, worn once, and discarded - earning hosiery the title of the plastic straw of fashion. For more than a decade, we’ve shown that quality, design, and sustainability can not only coexist but thrive together. This year, we have done just that once again - pushing boundaries, refining our collections, and taking meaningful steps toward global expansion.
We were the first to create tights from recycled materials, but our innovation goes beyond the fabric itself. It’s about longevity, transparency, and restoring value to a product that deserves respect. A wear-and-tear garment should last, and be made with the lowest possible impact on our planet. Our production now achieves a 52% lower CO₂ footprint than industry standards and 86% supply chain transparency - but beyond the numbers, it’s the people behind each product who make it all possible.
This dedication and craftsmanship is exactly what we wanted to highlight through our video series, Journey of a Thread. The video series takes you behind the scenes of our Italian supply chain in Castel Goffredo - a region renowned for textile craftsmanship. Our goal was to show the skill, care, and dedication that go into every pair of tights. By revealing the invisible craftsmanship behind what many see as a disposable item, we hope to shift perceptions - turning tights into premium garments worthy of respect and attention.
During the year, We have expanded our international presence, particularly in the United States by connecting with a broader audience through product development, storytelling, and our collaboration with Leandra Medine Cohen. Together we created Integrated Parts, a limited-edition capsule collection that redefined fall and winter dressing, with bold tights that transform any outfit into a statement. We’ve expanded our reach, connecting with a broader audience who appreciate our style, quality, and creativity.
"I encourage everyone at Swedish Stockings to think with an entrepreneurial mindset, being cost-conscious, commercially aware, and focused on driving growth." - Linn Frisinger.
Our Recycling Club has reached a new milestone this year with American visual artist Sienna Martz. We launched her textile art during a special lunch, where our tables, made from recycled tights, were later sold exclusively via Bukowskis. This project shows what happens when fashion and design unite around a shared purpose; to create something beautiful, sustainable, and meaningful from what is otherwise considered waste. That a renowned auction house chose to highlight and sell our collection sends a powerful signal about the value of circular solutions.
For me, sustainability must go beyond environmental impact, it also has to make financial sense. A truly sustainable business grows responsibly and remains resilient. That’s why I encourage everyone at Swedish Stockings to think with an entrepreneurial mindset, being cost-conscious, commercially aware, and focused on driving growth.
It’s incredibly motivating to work with a team that shares this mindset. Their passion and belief make even the boldest steps - like entering the US market feel possible. This year, we’ve taken the first step, and what I truly take with me from this year is the confidence and shared belief that we can make it, it’s an incredibly powerful feeling as we look ahead.
Thank you to all who inspire us and challenge us to do better. Together, we are building a fashion future that is thoughtful, responsible, and full of purpose.
