It’s been 10 years since we started the world's first sustainable hosiery brand. Our mission has been clear from the very beginning — to change and influence the fashion industry to become more sustainable. It’s our reason for being and why we exist, even today 10 years on. And the need for sustainability has never been more clear.
It's been a journey to say the least. From when we started — working through the night packing orders from my apartment — to where we are today, a profitable and growing company. We gained initial recognition winning an Elle Award in 2016 and that gave us the drive to keep carrying on, knowing that we could actually make an impact on this industry. Through the years, we have continued to gain proof of this, with established brands turning to us to help with their production. Brands like Ganni and Malene Birger, and a powerhouse fashion label which we will be sharing with you in 2024. This has given us the idea to start our own production company next year, focusing only on responsible production for other brands — our partners are key for us in achieving our mission to change the industry.
I believe that when people buy our tights, they are truly making a difference for the planet. I am proud of my colleagues and the strong company and culture that we have built together. We have even managed to survive a pandemic without cutting down. As a brand, we will continue to push the boundaries, continue to be curious and will find new ways to create the ultimate pair of tights. My focus ahead will be to continue building a strong, healthy and happy organization that will grow Swedish Stockings to be the undisputed go-to brand for premium hosiery, in Sweden and worldwide.
