Threading Fashion and Form: The August Barron x Swedish Stockings Collaboration

In an industry where sustainability and high fashion often run on parallel tracks, the collaboration between August Barron and Swedish Stockings proposes a meeting point somewhere in between. The limited capsule collection created by the two brands does not position itself as a reinvention of hosiery, but rather as an exploration of what happens when technical craft and conceptual fashion overlap.

Founded by Benjamin Barron and Bror August Vestbø, August Barron is a Paris-based fashion label, creative studio, and publishing platform. Emerging from their 2015 experimental magazine ALL‑IN, the brand evolved from editorial storytelling to producing the garments featured in its shoots, becoming a fully realized fashion label.

The collaboration began with the latest issue of the August Barron magazine ALL-IN Magazine, titled Fan Fiction. The eighth edition, produced in a run of 700 copies, was wrapped in Swedish Stockings tights held together by a single pin. The hosiery also appeared prominently in the magazine’s editorials, worn by a cast of creatives including Alex Consani, Lotta Volkova, Laia Bonastre, Lengua and other top creatives of the industry

Two styles make up the collaboration. The first, called Double Leggings, layers ribbed leggings made from recycled lurex beneath wide fishnet tights. The second, Leg Warmers, extends the concept upward into thigh-high forms that blur the line between tights, warmers, and sculptural legwear.

The designs were first shown during Paris Fashion Week 2025 as part of August Barron’s Spring/Summer 2026 presentation, Real Housewife. Rather than treating hosiery as a finishing detail, the pieces functioned almost like garments in their own right, integrated into the silhouettes and styling of the collection.

For Swedish Stockings, the collaboration marks its first partnership with a fashion designer rather than a purely technical or sustainability-focused initiative. “Strengthening our position as a leading fashion hosiery brand,” says Beatriz Gama, Creative Lead at Swedish Stockings. “We truly believe a lot can be created by blending the creative vision of garment-making with the expertise and craftsmanship of hosiery to create pieces that push the boundaries of our category and speak to different audiences.

The August Barron x Swedish Stockings capsule was featured in August Barron’s book release event at Paris Fashion Week 2026, where pieces from the collaboration appeared on guests and were creatively captured in the publication. With its official release on March 18, 2026, the project moves from a moment within the fashion calendar to objects intended for everyday wardrobes, available through both brands’ online platforms and selected retailers worldwide, including Dover Street Market.
