Materials
This page gives an overview of the fibres and yarns we use in our hosiery. The exact fibre composition of each product is stated on its product page, together with any recycled content.
You can read more about the materials we use below.
Polyamide (nylon) is the main fibre in most of our tights, socks and knee-highs. It gives hosiery its strength, stretch and sheerness. Many of our styles are knitted from polyamide yarns that contain recycled material. The recycled share varies between yarns and styles, and is stated on each product page. When we say "recycled", we refer to the share of that specific fibre, not the whole product.
Elastane gives hosiery its stretch, fit and recovery. It is blended with the other fibres in almost all our styles.
Some styles contain small amounts of other synthetic fibres, such as polyester, metallic yarns for shimmer, polypropylene or polyethylene, used for specific looks or functions.
Our winter styles are knitted from blends that include merino wool and, in some styles, cashmere. These fibres add warmth and softness. The blend is stated on each product page.
Viscose and lyocell are fibres made from wood pulp. They are used in some of our socks and tights for a soft, smooth feel.
Cotton is used in the gusset of most of our tights, and in our cotton-blend socks and tights.
Tights returned to us through our Recycling Club have been used as material for tables, textile artwork and garments made in collaboration with designers and artists. These pieces combine used hosiery with other materials, which are listed on each piece.
