Ava Tights are made from Amni Soul Eco®, the world’s first biodegradable polyamide.
A pair of tights are normally worn a handful of times and then discarded, adding to the other 8 billion tights already thrown to landfill, each year. Believe it or not, but there are better solutions.
While other fibres take decades to break down, Amni Soul® takes 3-5 years to decompose in a landfill environment where there is no oxygen and the microorganisms can break it down into biomass and biogas.
Landfills have a disadvantage in terms of releasing toxins and greenhouse gases, however, in many countries this is the main method of garbage disposal, and the fact that Amni Soul® decomposes under these circumstances helps reduce the environmental impact.
